Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a conversation with Kenyan President William Ruto, during which he underscored the vital importance of the U.S.-Kenya bilateral relationship and expressed gratitude for Kenya’s leadership in the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission to Haiti.
In the discussion, Secretary Rubio emphasized Kenya’s strategic role in promoting stability and security within East Africa and beyond. He highlighted Kenya’s contributions to regional peace, particularly in Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
Secretary Rubio reiterated the United States’ commitment to strengthening its partnership with Kenya, acknowledging the critical role the nation plays in fostering regional security and combating instability in the Horn of Africa.
