In a recent diplomatic development, Shri Subhash Prasad Gupta, a veteran Indian Foreign Service( IFS) officer from the 2006 batch, has been concurrently recognized as the High Commissioner of India to Saint Lucia. Shri Gupta, who is now the Republic of Suriname’s ambassador, will carry out this extra duty from his base in Paramaribo.
This double approval demonstrates India’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties and encouraging cooperation with Saint Lucia, a Caribbean Community member state. In light of his extensive political experience, especially in the Caribbean region, Shri Gupta is a key player in strengthening India’s strategic and economic ties there.
Shri Gupta’s arrival in New Delhi made it clear that he would soon begin taking up his new position, which would help India’s referral and cooperation with allies in the Caribbean.
This visit is a testament to India’s strategic foreign policy strategy, which shows how committed it is to creating lasting global relationships under powerful and knowledgeable leadership.
