The Regional Passport Office (RPO) Vijayawada was officially inaugurated by Minister of State for External Affairs and for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh (MOS-KVS), on April 8, 2025. The event marked a significant milestone in enhancing passport services for the people of Andhra Pradesh.
The RPO Vijayawada will cater to passport applicants from 15 districts of Central, Southern Coastal, and Rayalaseema regions, covering areas such as Anantapur, Guntur, Kurnool, and Nellore. The office has been established in a state-of-the-art facility with two Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) in Vijayawada and Tirupati, and 13 Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) across various districts.
The renovated Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) Vijjayawada has an expanded capacity of over 1,000 applications per day, ensuring faster and more efficient service delivery. The upgraded facility is designed to provide a seamless experience for passport applicants, with state-of-the-art technology and modern amenities.
The Ministry of External Affairs remains committed to providing faster, transparent, accessible, citizen-friendly, and convenient passport services through the Passport Seva Project (PSP), a high-impact citizen-centric e-governance initiative as part of the National e-Governance Plan. The PSP aims to provide efficient and effective services to citizens, while also promoting transparency and accountability.
The inauguration of RPO Vijayawada and the renovated PSK marks a significant milestone in enhancing passport services for the people of Andhra Pradesh. With this development, citizens can now access passport services more easily and efficiently, without having to travel long distances or face lengthy queues.
