India and Singapore Celebrate 60 Years of Diplomatic Relations

India and Singapore are celebrating 60 years of diplomatic relations in 2025, marking a significant milestone in their enduring partnership. To commemorate the occasion, Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, and the President of the Republic of Singapore, H.E. Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, jointly unveiled a special anniversary logo during a ceremony held in New Delhi on January 16, 2025.

The logo, symbolizing the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations, incorporates elements from the national flags of India and Singapore, alongside their respective national flowers—the Lotus and the Orchid. The central motif features the number 60, emphasizing this landmark year. Together, the design highlights the shared values, mutual trust, and robust ties between the two countries.

Over the past six decades, India-Singapore relations have grown into a multifaceted partnership, encompassing political, defense, economic, cultural, and educational dimensions. These ties have been further strengthened through people-to-people connections and cooperation in emerging sectors such as advanced manufacturing, digitalization, connectivity, healthcare, sustainability, and education.

Singapore remains a cornerstone of India’s Act East Policy and Indo-Pacific vision. As both nations commemorate their shared journey, a series of events are planned throughout the year to reflect the depth and significance of this bilateral relationship. These activities will underscore the commitment of India and Singapore to continue fostering collaboration across traditional and cutting-edge fields.

The unveiling of the logo marks the beginning of a year of celebration, honoring a partnership built on shared history and a shared vision for the future.
