India and Mongolia Strengthen Strategic Partnership at Consultative Meeting

New Delhi, March 21, 2025 – Indian Secretary (East) Shri Jaideep Mazumdar recently held a consultative meeting with Mongolian State Secretary Munkhtushig Lkhanaajav, further solidifying the country's strategic partnership.

The meeting, which took place on March 19, 2025, focused on strengthening bilateral ties in key areas such as developmental partnerships, education, IT, energy, connectivity, culture, capacity building, mining, defense, and security. The two officials reviewed progress made in these sectors and discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the coming years.

Both sides agreed to organize a series of commemorative activities to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Mongolia. This initiative aims to strengthen cultural exchange and promote people-to-people ties between the two nations.

Additionally, Indian and Mongolian officials decided to formally upgrade the Foreign Office Constitutions (FOC) to Secretary-level, enhancing the diplomatic framework for enhanced collaboration.

During the meeting, discussions were also held on regional and international issues of mutual interest, showcasing the commitment of both countries to maintain strong relationships in the global arena.

The consultative meeting underscores India's continued emphasis on nurturing its strategic partnerships with neighboring countries, including Mongolia.
