Secretary of State Marco Rubio, on behalf of the United States, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of India as they commemorate Republic Day. This significant occasion marks the adoption of the Constitution of India, which laid the foundation for the world’s largest democracy.
The Secretary acknowledged the enduring significance of the Indian Constitution, emphasizing the shared values of democracy and governance between the two nations. He also highlighted the growing U.S.-India partnership, describing it as one of the defining relationships of the 21st century.
“The bond between our two peoples is the cornerstone of our cooperation,” said Secretary Rubio. “Our partnership is increasingly defining global progress, particularly in areas like economic growth, space research, and regional security.”
Looking ahead, Secretary Rubio expressed the U.S.’s commitment to further strengthening ties with India. This includes advancing collaborative efforts in space research and continuing the alignment of both nations’ goals within the Quad framework to foster a free, open, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
