Sweden Supports Moldova’s Growth with Business Seminar

Stockholm, May 26, 2025 – A business seminar on Moldova, hosted by Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa, aimed to facilitate collaboration between Swedish businesses and Moldovan partners. The event took place in Stockholm on Thursday, May 22.

The seminar provided a platform for Swedish companies to gain insights into Moldova’s economic and political development, as well as explore investment opportunities in areas such as green energy, infrastructure, and IT. According to Minister Dousa, Swedish businesses have significant expertise to offer Moldova, particularly in these strategically important sectors.

“Moldova’s rapid pace of reform and progress towards EU membership provide excellent conditions for increased trade with Sweden,” said Minister Dousa. “I hope this seminar will contribute to strengthening our bilateral relations and fostering new forms of cooperation.”

Attendees included Moldova’s Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Doina Nistor, the Director of Invest Moldova, and representatives from around 50 Swedish businesses, organizations, and government agencies.

Sweden has been actively supporting Moldova through its extensive reform cooperation program. This initiative aims to contribute to the country’s growth by supporting various projects, including those that enable Moldovan companies to export to Sweden and the EU single market. For instance, the National Board of Trade helps Moldovan IT and agricultural companies gain access to the EU market.

The seminar was an opportunity for participants to share their experiences, establish valuable connections, and explore potential collaborations. By fostering business ties between Sweden and Moldova, both countries can benefit from increased trade and economic growth.

In summary, the business seminar on Moldova highlights Sweden’s commitment to supporting Moldova’s economic development and strengthening bilateral relations with its partner country in Eastern Europe.
