Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-day official visit to Kuwait on December 21-22, 2024, at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait. This will mark the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Kuwait in 43 years.

During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will engage in high-level talks with the leadership of Kuwait, aimed at enhancing bilateral ties. He is also expected to meet and interact with the Indian community in Kuwait, the largest expatriate group in the country.

India and Kuwait share historically close and cordial relations, underpinned by strong economic cooperation and robust people-to-people connections. India is one of Kuwait’s top trading partners, and the vibrant Indian diaspora plays a key role in strengthening the bilateral relationship.

The visit is seen as an opportunity to further deepen multifaceted ties between the two nations, especially in areas such as trade, energy, and cultural exchange.

The Prime Minister’s visit comes at a time when both countries are keen to explore new avenues for cooperation and bolster their longstanding partnership.
