India Suspends Visa Services to Pakistani Nationals Amid Security Concerns

The Government of India has announced the suspension of visa services to Pakistani nationals, effective immediately, following the recent Pahalgam terror attack. The move is aimed at strengthening national security in light of the ongoing tensions between the two countries.

In a statement released on April 24, 2025, New Delhi confirmed that all existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani nationals will stand revoked with effect from April 27, 2025. Furthermore, medical visas currently held by Pakistani nationals are only valid until April 29, 2025.

As a result, all Pakistani nationals currently residing in India are required to leave the country before their visas expire, as amended. This directive is part of an ongoing effort to enhance border security and prevent potential threats.

Indian citizens are strongly advised to refrain from traveling to Pakistan, while those already residing in the country are urged to return to India at the earliest. The decision aims to mitigate the risk of potential terrorist activities and ensure the safety of both nations.

The suspension of visa services marks a significant shift in the bilateral relationship between India and Pakistan, highlighting the ongoing security concerns between the two nations.
