The 10th round of Foreign Office Consultations between India and Slovenia was held on May 6, 2025, in New Delhi. The Indian delegation, led by Secretary (West) Tanmaya Lal of the Ministry of External Affairs, met with Slovenian State Secretary Marko Štucin of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
During the consultations, the co-chairs undertook a comprehensive review of the progress made in various aspects of bilateral cooperation. They agreed to strengthen the India-Slovenia bilateral partnership for mutual benefit, focusing on key areas such as political relations, trade and investment, science, technology, and innovation, space, digitalization, AI, migration and mobility, defense, agriculture, people-to-people exchanges, and cultural ties.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest. In preparation for the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties in 2027, it was agreed to mark this occasion in a suitable manner. State Secretary Štucin made a courtesy call on External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar during the consultations.
The strengthened bilateral partnership is expected to enhance cooperation between India and Slovenia in various sectors, promoting mutual understanding and economic growth. The government looks forward to continuing its engagement with Slovenia and exploring opportunities for collaboration in areas of common interest.
