On the occasion of Qatar’s National Day, U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken extended heartfelt congratulations to the State of Qatar and its people. In his statement, Blinken expressed the United States’ strong support for Qatar, highlighting the positive developments in the relationship between the two nations.
This year, Secretary Blinken took pride in welcoming Qatar’s designation into the U.S. Visa Waiver Program, a significant milestone that will enhance travel experiences for citizens of both nations, fostering closer ties. “This process will create a safer and easier travel experience for the citizens of both of our nations,” Blinken noted.
The Secretary also celebrated the robust exchanges between the U.S. and Qatar in the fields of education, tourism, economics, and culture, which have helped strengthen personal relationships between the two countries. He acknowledged the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, particularly his role in mediating regional conflicts and working tirelessly to reunite families and promote lasting peace.
