A top leader of a violent transnational criminal organization is now the focus of an international manhunt, with a reward of up to $500,000 being offered by the US government. Alejandro Arias-Monge, also known as "Diablo," is the head of the organization and has multiple outstanding warrants in Costa Rica for various serious crimes.
Arias-Monge's operation involves smuggling large quantities of cocaine from Colombia through Central America, with the ultimate destination being the United States. The cartel uses social media to intimidate citizens, including posting images of firearms, threatening messages, and videos of murders. Authorities have identified cells operated by Arias in all seven provinces of Costa Rica.
The reward offer is part of the Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program (TOCRP), which supports law enforcement efforts globally. The US Department of State's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs has authorized the reward, which will be given to anyone providing information leading to Arias' arrest or conviction in any country.
Individuals with information are encouraged to contact the DEA at +1-956-517-7023 (text/WhatsApp/Signal) or via email at CRInfo@dea.gov. If located outside the US, they can also visit the nearest US embassy or consulate. In the US, they can reach out to their local DEA field office.
Note: All identities are kept strictly confidential, and government officials and employees are not eligible for rewards.
