India's Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, met with a delegation led by Hon'ble Kamal Bahadur Shah, Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province of Nepal, on May 1st in New Delhi. The meeting was part of the official visit to India by the Nepalese delegation, which arrived in the country on April 29th and will stay until May 5th.
During their interaction, MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh affirmed the strong and historic relationship between India and Nepal, rooted in deep people-to-people links. He also highlighted recent progress in bilateral relations and discussed opportunities for fostering greater connections between India and the Sudurpaschim region of Nepal through areas such as connectivity, energy, tourism, and agriculture.
The Nepalese delegation will visit several states in India, including Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, which share close cultural and economic ties with the neighboring Sudurpaschim Province. The visit underscores the sustained momentum in bilateral ties between India and Nepal, with Nepal being a priority partner for India under its Neighbourhood First policy.
The meeting marks an important step in strengthening ties between the two countries and will likely contribute to enhanced cooperation in various sectors.
