The 5th edition of the Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz, a unique initiative by the Government of India, concluded successfully, with a record 1,08,876 participants from 203 countries and territories joining in. The online quiz, which ran from November 11 to December 11, 2024, aimed to strengthen the bond between the Indian diaspora and India, while also reaching out to foreign nationals and those of Indian origin who are eager to deepen their knowledge of the country’s rich heritage, culture, and development.
Launched in 2015 by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during the 13th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention, the Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz has grown in popularity over the years, becoming a vibrant platform for global citizens to engage with India. The quiz is open to two categories of participants:
- Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)
- Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) / Foreign Nationals, aged between 14 and 50 years.
In this year’s edition, participants tested their knowledge on various aspects of India, including history, culture, geography, and contemporary issues. The winners, 15 from each category, will now embark on a special “Bharat Ko Janiye Yatra” (Know India Tour) to experience India firsthand.
