Improving Access to Justice for the People of Ecuador
A $5 million investment over five years will support the United Nations Development Programme’s project to improve access to judicial services, combat corruption, counter impunity, and increase citizen confidence in the Ecuadorian justice system. This initiative is part of Canada’s commitment to promoting the rule of law and human rights worldwide.
Enhancing Climate Resilience and Economic Well-being
Canada will provide $16.7 million over five years to support the Développement international Desjardins’ project, PROGRESAR+, aimed at enhancing climate resilience and economic well-being for women and young agri-entrepreneurs in the Andean-Amazonian regions of Colombia and Ecuador.

Tackling Organized Crime and Supporting Indigenous Communities
Canada will provide $4 million over four years to support the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Ecuador’s DISRUPT project, which aims to strengthen Ecuador’s capacity to prevent and combat organized crime. Additionally, a $320,000 investment over two years will be dedicated to the Indigenous Clean Energy Renewable Energy Solidarity project, which focuses on delivering specialized renewable energy capacity building to indigenous communities in Ecuador and Colombia.
