In a statement released on 30 Jul 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia has categorically rejected the allegations made by Thailand regarding a ceasefire violation. The Royal Government of Cambodia strongly denies claims that it has violated the ceasefire reached in Malaysia on 28 Jul 2025.
The ministry's statement is a direct response to Thailand's allegations, which have been described as "false" and "fabricated." Cambodia wishes to reiterate its rejection of these claims, which have already been expressed in a previous statement issued by the Foreign Ministry of Cambodia on 29 Jul 2025. At no point of time had the Cambodian armed forces engaged in any actions that could be construed as a violation of the agreed ceasefire.
Cambodia has consistently demonstrated its commitment to reaching an agreement for the cessation of all armed hostilities, aiming to prevent further loss of lives and suffering among the displaced tens of thousands of people. The ministry unequivocally reaffirms its dedication to the full and effective implementation of the ceasefire agreement and peaceful resolution of all disputes with Thailand.
The primary goal of restoring peace must be emphasized as not only temporary but also enduring, for the benefit of both nations and regional stability. Cambodia deeply appreciates the strong commitment shown by Malaysia, currently the Chair of ASEAN, in taking expeditious action to establish a monitoring mechanism for verification and reporting of the ceasefire.
Cambodia is grateful for the support of all ASEAN Member States and other interested countries in making the ceasefire lasting. The ministry organized a site visit today by foreign diplomats and Military Attaché Corps at the border area of An Seh, Phnom Penh, to demonstrate its sincerity and openness in maintaining the ceasefire and ending the fighting to save lives.
The Royal Government of Cambodia reaffirms its full adherence to the ceasefire and steadfast commitment to international law, peaceful resolution of disputes, and respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and mutual dignity of both nations.
In conclusion, Cambodia's rejection of Thailand's allegations underscores its unwavering dedication to regional stability and the pursuit of a lasting peace. The country's efforts to establish a monitoring mechanism and reinforce the ceasefire agreement are seen as positive steps towards achieving this goal.
