The event marks the 120th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Norway.

In a statement released on 21 July 2025, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, welcomed participants to the Agri-Hackathon, which is open to 2nd to 4th year undergraduate students across Thailand. Teams of 3-5 members are invited to develop innovative solutions addressing one of three themes: people – advancing agriculture for food security and human well-being; planet – promoting environmentally sustainable farming; or prosperity – enhancing agricultural supply chains for economic resilience and growth.

The Agri-Hackathon is part of celebrations marking the 120th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Norway. The competition will be held from 12-14 September 2025, with fifteen teams selected from the applications submitted during the open period (15 July – 15 August 2025). These selected teams will participate in a 3-day 2-night workshop and pitching competition at the Faculty of Agriculture, Kasetsart University, Bangkhen Campus.

The Ministry invites the public to follow the progress of this project and join the conversation on social media using the hashtag #FarmingTheFutureTH.

By promoting sustainable agriculture practices and supporting innovative initiatives, Thailand aims to contribute positively to regional and global development, while reinforcing its diplomatic ties with Norway and other international partners.
