Modi Congratulates Albanese on Historic Second Term as Australian Prime Minister

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with The Hon Anthony Albanese yesterday, extending his warmest congratulations to him on his historic re-election as the 32nd Prime Minister of Australia. The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) between India and Australia, which has seen robust cooperation develop across various sectors over its five-year tenure.

Modi emphasized the significance of the Indian origin diaspora in solidifying bilateral ties between the two nations. He also discussed regional and global matters of mutual interest with Albanese, reiterating their commitment to working together to promote a free, open, stable, rules-based, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.

During the conversation, Modi invited PM Albanese to visit India later this year, including for the Annual Summit and the QUAD Summit, which will be hosted in India. The leaders agreed to remain in touch and maintain regular communication.
