US Sanctions Iranian LPG Shipping Network, Targets Iran’s Nuclear and Ballistic Missile Programs

The United States has taken action to further pressure Iran by sanctioning the liquified petroleum gas (LPG) shipping network of Iranian national Seyed Asadoollah Emamjomeh. The Treasury Department has designated Mr. Emamjomeh and his network for exporting hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of Iranian LPG and crude oil to foreign markets.

This revenue, generated by the sanctioned network, is believed to fund Iran's malign behavior, including its nuclear and ballistic missile programs, as well as support for terrorist proxies. The U.S. government has long been critical of Iran's destabilizing conduct, and the Trump Administration has vowed to vigorously enforce all U.S. sanctions on Iran as part of its maximum pressure campaign.

The designation is pursuant to Executive Order 13902, which targets those operating in certain sectors of the Iranian economy. In October 2024, the Secretary of the Treasury determined that section 1(a)(i) of E.O. 13902 would apply to the petroleum and petrochemical sectors of the Iranian economy, allowing the Treasury to target a broader range of activities related to Iran's trade in petroleum and petrochemical products.

The U.S. government will continue to hold accountable both Iran and all its partners in sanctions evasion as long as Iran attempts to generate oil revenues to fund its subversive activities. The action is part of the Trump Administration's efforts to disrupt Iran's economy and limit its ability to support terrorism and other malign activities.

This designation can be found on the Treasury's Press Releases page, which provides more information on the sanctions and designations imposed by the U.S. government.
