A senior official from the US Bureau of International Organization Affairs is set to engage in high-level discussions with counterparts at the United Nations (UN) agencies in Geneva, Switzerland, and Rome, Italy. From April 7-11, McCoy Pitt will participate in a consultative-level meeting of the Geneva Group on UN governance and management.
During his stay in Geneva, Mr. Pitt will hold additional meetings with leadership from several UN agencies to further explore ways to enhance cooperation between governments and the UN system. The consultations aim to address pressing issues affecting international organizations and their ability to deliver effective results.
Following his visit to Geneva, Mr. Pitt will travel to Rome, Italy, where he will meet with officials from Rome-based UN agencies on April 14-15. He will also engage in discussions with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Holy See, discussing shared priorities such as promoting global governance and improving the efficiency of international organizations.
The meetings with the US official underscore the importance of collaboration between governments, international organizations, and religious institutions to address complex global challenges.
