Indonesia Strengthens Trade Ties with Saudi Arabia through “Indonesian Week” Exhibition

On July 30, 2025, the highly anticipated “Indonesian Week” exhibition officially opened at Wahj Mart in Jeddah’s Al Faisaliyah area, marking a significant milestone in Indonesia’s efforts to bolster its export market presence in Saudi Arabia.

The event was inaugurated by Acting Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Jeddah, Ninik Rahayu, alongside representatives from the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah, the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Jeddah, and Wahj Mart management. Rahayu expressed strong optimism about the growing demand for Indonesian products in the Saudi Arabian market.

“We are confident that Indonesian products can reach more local and international consumers in Saudi Arabia,” said Ninik. “Our hope is that Indonesian goods become the top choice for their quality and uniqueness.” Eight major importers and distributors from Saudi Arabia participated in the exhibition, showcasing a diverse range of leading Indonesian products.

The exhibition featured a wide array of Indonesian products, including processed foods, traditional seasonings, lifestyle items, and everyday household essentials. The participating companies included Al Gamah, MBT, Mawla Dawila, Mizanain, Al Sahah, SBTC, Napcol, and Pinehill.

According to data from the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Saudi Arabia has emerged as one of Indonesia’s most promising export markets in the Middle East region. The country’s exports to Saudi Arabia reached USD 2.81 billion by May 2025, up from USD 2.69 billion during the same period the previous year.

Beyond trade promotion, “Indonesian Week” aims to foster deeper people-to-people ties through a warm and inclusive approach to cultural diplomacy. The event marks an important step in Indonesia’s efforts to strengthen its economic and cultural ties with Saudi Arabia.

The exhibition will run until August 3, 2025, providing visitors with the opportunity to explore the rich diversity of Indonesian products and culture.
