Netherlands' Minister of Foreign Affairs, Caspar Veldkamp, has arrived in New Delhi on his first official visit to India, marking a significant milestone in the country's diplomatic ties. During his four-day stay, from March 31 to April 1, 2025, Veldkamp is expected to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new areas of cooperation with Indian counterpart Dr. S. Jaishankar.

On March 31, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar held delegation-level talks with Foreign Minister Veldkamp, reviewing the growing bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including political exchanges, trade and investments, defense and security, innovation, culture, and people-to-people ties. The two ministers also highlighted the vast potential of cooperation between India and the Netherlands in emerging areas such as semiconductors, digital technologies, renewable energy, green hydrogen, education, and migration.

The Netherlands and India have a long-standing trusted partnership with mutually beneficial ties spanning across diverse sectors. The two countries share a Strategic Partnership in the Water sector, which is expected to be further strengthened during Veldkamp's visit. NSA Ajit Doval will also meet with FM Veldkamp during his stay.

During his visit, Veldkamp will engage in discussions on global and regional developments of mutual interest, as well as explore new avenues for cooperation. The visit aims to provide impetus to the country's increasingly strong and expanding bilateral relations with India.
