Shri Om Prakash Meena Appointed Ambassador to Burkina Faso

Shri Om Prakash Meena, a 2007 batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), has been named the next Ambassador of India to Burkina Faso. Known for his extensive experience and diplomatic acumen, Shri Meena is expected to assume his new role shortly. Burkina Faso, located in West Africa, shares longstanding ties with India, particularly in areas such as agriculture, healthcare, and capacity-building initiatives.

Shri Abhay Kumar Appointed Ambassador to Georgia

Shri Abhay Kumar, a 2003 batch IFS officer and currently serving as Deputy Director General at the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Georgia. Shri Kumar is well-regarded for his contributions to India’s cultural diplomacy. His new assignment underscores India’s intent to bolster economic and cultural ties with Georgia, a country with which India shares growing trade and tourism linkages.

Both ambassadors are expected to take up their respective assignments soon, furthering India’s diplomatic engagements and strengthening its global partnerships.
