The U.S. Department of State's Rewards for Justice program has extended its reward offer to up to $10 million for information leading to the disruption of the financial mechanisms of the terrorist organization Hizballah, operating in the Tri-Border Area (TBA) of Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay.
Hizballah financiers and facilitators generate revenue through various illicit activities, including money laundering, narcotics trafficking, charcoal and oil smuggling, illicit diamond trade, and document forgery. They also engage in commercial activities across Latin America, such as construction, import and export of goods, and real estate sales.
The U.S. government is seeking information on Hizballah's financial networks in the TBA, including sources of revenue, donors or financial facilitators, financial institutions facilitating transactions, businesses or investments owned or controlled by Hizballah, and front companies engaging in international procurement of dual-use technology on behalf of the organization.
Hizballah is a Lebanon-based terrorist organization that receives weapons, training, and funding from Iran, which has been designated as a state sponsor of terrorism. The organization generates approximately $1 billion annually through various means, including direct financial support from Iran, international businesses and investments, donor networks, corruption, and money laundering activities.
The State Department designated Hizballah as a Foreign Terrorist Organization in 1997 and as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist in 2001. Since its inception in 1984, Rewards for Justice has paid over $250 million to individuals who provided actionable information leading to the disruption of threats to U.S. national security.
Anyone with information on Hizballah financial networks in the TBA is encouraged to contact Rewards for Justice via Signal, Telegram, WhatsApp at +1-202-702-7843, or our Tor-based tip line. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
The Rewards for Justice program can be found on their website, where more information about this reward offer and how to submit a tip is available.
