In a significant display of regional solidarity, the Kingdom of Cambodia will participate in the Eighth Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Beijing on December 7. The event is an opportunity for MLC foreign ministers to discuss and strengthen cooperation among the six Mekong countries.
On 04 Dec 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced that Deputy Prime Minister SOK Chenda Sophea would attend the meeting, which is themed around Jointly Strive for Modernization and Cultivate New Strengths in Subregional Development. This theme reflects the group’s Five-Year Plan of Action for 2023 to 2027, aimed at promoting socio-economic development amidst global uncertainty.
The Eighth MLC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting will provide a platform for Cambodia and other participating countries to foster greater collaboration and mutual support in areas such as sustainable development, infrastructure, and economic growth.
