In a significant move to enhance bilateral relations, H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, recently held discussions with H.E. Ms. Berris Ekinci, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye on June 19, 2025.
The two officials engaged in a productive dialogue aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations, with a long-term goal of elevating their relations to a strategic partnership by 2028. To achieve this objective, they discussed various mechanisms, including the Joint Committee on Economic and Technical Cooperation (JETC) and Political Consultations (PC), as well as cooperation in areas such as security, economy, and culture.
Furthermore, the discussions extended to multilateral frameworks, including ASEAN, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The Vice Minister also touched upon regional issues, including the situations in the Middle East and Ukraine.
As a symbol of respect and friendship between the two nations, H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra laid a wreath in remembrance of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and first president of Türkiye, at the Anıtkabir in Ankara.
