At the United Nations Biodiversity Conference in Geneva, Singapore’s delegation led by Ambassador Tan Kean-Jew emphasized the importance of national actions to mitigate climate change and protect ecosystems.
The conference marked a crucial milestone in the implementation of the UN Biodiversity Agenda 2030, which aims to conserve at least 30% of terrestrial and marine ecosystems by 2030. Singapore’s delegation highlighted its own initiatives, including the creation of the National Parks Board’s ‘Eco-Hub’ platform, which provides a comprehensive platform for citizens to engage with nature and promote conservation efforts.
The conference also saw discussions on the role of international cooperation in addressing transboundary environmental issues, such as haze pollution.
