India will further consolidate its strategic partnerships with Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic, with Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment, Forest & Climate Change Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh set to visit both countries from May 29 to June 6, 2025. During his trip, Mr. Singh will engage in a range of high-level meetings, interactions with the local community, and participation in key international conferences focused on environmental protection and sustainable development.
In Tajikistan, Mr. Singh will lead the Indian delegation to the High-Level International Conference on Glaciers' Preservation, which is being held in Dushanbe from May 29 to June 1, 2025. The conference aims to discuss strategies for preserving glaciers and mitigating the impact of climate change. Mr. Singh will also hold bilateral meetings with Tajikistan's Foreign Minister and other dignitaries, as well as interact with the Indian community in the country.
Following his visit to Dushanbe, Mr. Singh will travel to the Kyrgyz Republic, where he will engage in similar high-level discussions with the Kyrgyz Foreign Minister and other officials. He will also have opportunities to meet with the Indian community in Bishkek.
One of the key highlights of Mr. Singh's visit is his participation in the IX Meeting of the Global Snow Leopard and Ecosystem Protection Programme (GSLEP) Steering Committee, which will be held on June 5-6, 2025, in Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyz Republic. This meeting brings together experts from across the region to discuss strategies for protecting snow leopard habitats and promoting sustainable development.
