Washington, D.C. – A high-level meeting between U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and Bahraini Minister of Finance and National Economy Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa has reaffirmed the strong and historic partnership between the two nations.
During the meeting at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., on April 25, 2025, Deputy Secretary Landau and Minister Al Khalifa discussed the exemplary U.S. trade and logistics zone in Bahrain, as well as the stalwart partnership in trusted infrastructure and U.S. commercial cooperation.
Bahrain's commitment to the Abraham Accords was also a focus of the discussion, with Deputy Secretary Landau expressing appreciation for the Kingdom's role in promoting maritime security. Additionally, Minister Al Khalifa highlighted support for the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), which strengthens regional economic and defense integration.
The two leaders also explored opportunities to deepen bilateral economic partnership in energy, technology, and other strategic sectors, with a shared commitment to advancing peace, regional security, and economic prosperity.
The U.S.-Bahrain relationship has long been characterized by its strong ties and cooperation on key issues. This meeting marks another step forward in strengthening the bond between the two nations, as they continue to work together to promote stability and growth in the region.
