On the occasion of Bulgaria’s National Day, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio extended warm congratulations to the Bulgarian people, reaffirming the strong and enduring partnership between the two nations.

“On behalf of the United States of America, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people of Bulgaria as you commemorate your Day of Liberation,” Secretary Rubio stated. “For over 122 years, our nations have shared a deep and growing friendship, built on mutual respect, cooperation, and shared values.”

The Secretary of State highlighted key areas of collaboration, particularly in energy security and defense. Your nation’s dedication to upholding peace and stability is a testament to Bulgaria’s leadership on the international stage,” he added.

As Bulgarians across the country and abroad celebrate this historic day, the United States reaffirmed its commitment to further strengthening diplomatic, economic, and security partnerships with Bulgaria. Secretary Rubio concluded his statement with well wishes for the nation’s continued prosperity.

“We look forward to deepening our cooperation and friendship in the years ahead. On this momentous occasion, I wish all Bulgarians a joyful celebration of your National Day,” he said.
