Thailand Deepens Relations with Kazakhstan Amidst Regional Cooperation Efforts

In a significant diplomatic development, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra received a farewell call from H.E. Mr. Arman Issetov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Thailand, on July 7, 2025. The meeting marked the end of the Ambassador’s tenure and provided an opportunity for both sides to reflect on their accomplishments and outline plans for future cooperation.

During the farewell call, Vice Minister Jalichandra expressed his appreciation to Ambassador Issetov for his valuable contributions to enhancing relations between Thailand and Kazakhstan. Specifically, he commended the Ambassador’s efforts in facilitating high-level visits, establishing the Consulate of Kazakhstan in Phuket, and concluding key bilateral agreements, including the Visa Exemption Agreement for Ordinary Passport Holders and the Agreement on Trade – Economic Cooperation.

The two officials also discussed plans to further deepen bilateral relations and agreed to strengthen their cooperation and mutual support in multilateral forums. Ambassador Issetov praised Thailand’s active and constructive role in regional organizations such as the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), ASEAN, and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
