The country has been actively engaging with regional partners to promote economic growth, social resilience, and peace in the face of ongoing global challenges.

A key component of this engagement is Singapore’s participation in the ASEAN+3 Economic Ministers’ Meeting (AEM), which brings together ministers from ASEAN, China, Japan, and South Korea to discuss regional economic issues. The meeting provides a platform for these nations to share their experiences, best practices, and policy initiatives to promote sustainable growth and development.

Singapore has also been working closely with its regional partners to enhance the resilience of supply chains and trade networks affected by the pandemic. The country’s Trade and Industry Minister, Chan Chun Sheng, recently reaffirmed Singapore’s commitment to strengthening regional economic cooperation, particularly through the establishment of a comprehensive network of free trade agreements (FTAs) in the region.

Furthermore, the Singapore government has been actively promoting digital connectivity and innovation as key drivers of economic growth. The country has launched several initiatives to enhance digital capabilities, including the development of a new Cybersecurity framework to support ASEAN’s digital transformation goals.

In addition, Singapore has been working closely with its international partners to promote global cooperation on pandemic preparedness and response. The country has played an active role in leading international efforts to combat COVID-19, including through the World Health Organization (WHO) and other multilateral institutions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that these efforts are in line with Singapore’s long-term vision for a prosperous and peaceful region, where nations work together to address common challenges and promote economic growth and development. As part of its commitment to ASEAN cooperation, the government has pledged ongoing support for regional initiatives aimed at promoting social resilience, peace, and security.
