Indonesia to Showcase Rich Culture and Natural Beauty at Algeria’s Largest Tourism Exhibition

In a move to strengthen tourism cooperation between the two countries, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Algiers participated in the Salon International du Tourisme et des Voyages (SITEV) 2025, Algeria’s largest tourism exhibition, held from May 15-18 at Hall C, SAFEX, Algiers. The event, officially opened by the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, H.E. Houria Meddahi, and the Minister of National Solidarity, Family, and Women’s Affairs, H.E. Soraya Mouloudji, highlighted the importance of the tourism sector and women’s empowerment within Algeria’s national development agenda.

The Indonesia Pavilion, supported by Pertamina International EP, Patra Hotel and Resorts, and B-Family Travel, was a highlight of the exhibition. The pavilion carried the theme “Wonderful Indonesia: A Thousand Islands of Discovery,” showcasing the country’s rich culture, natural beauty, and various top tourist destinations from across the archipelago. Indonesian cultural performances, displays of traditional clothing, and signature Indonesian coffee were featured throughout the four-day exhibition.

Visitors to the pavilion were also treated to brochures and tourism promotional materials, providing them with an opportunity to plan their trips to Indonesia. The pavilion’s warm atmosphere and engaging experiences helped to create a lasting impression on attendees, who expressed admiration for Indonesia’s cultural and natural diversity and showed great interest in making Indonesia a future travel destination.

The ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Algiers, Chalief Akbar, stated that Indonesia’s participation in SITEV is an important momentum to strengthen tourism cooperation between Indonesia and Algeria. “We want to continue opening the doors for Algerian tourists to come and explore the beauty of Indonesia, especially now that several airlines are offering direct flights to Bali,” Ambassador Chalief remarked in front of various media outlets covering KBRI Algiers’ participation at SITEV 2025.

The event, which drew over 250 participants from both domestic and international backgrounds, including tourism industry players, travel agencies, airlines, and tourism ministries from various countries, witnessed a significant turnout of 23,000 visitors. The Indonesia Pavilion received a very positive response from visitors, who were impressed by the country’s cultural and natural diversity.

The success of SITEV 2025 marks an important step in promoting Indonesian tourism and culture to the Algerian public and international community. With its rich culture, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality, Indonesia is poised to become a popular destination for travelers from around the world.
