India has flagged off the first batch of its prestigious Kailash Manasarovar Yatra 2025, a spiritual journey to the Tibetan plateau, in New Delhi. The flag-off ceremony took place at Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan on June 13, 2025.
The event was attended by Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, Shri Pabitra Margherita, who presided over the function and felicitated the Yatris on their selection. In his remarks, the Minister acknowledged the crucial role played by various Government of India Ministries and Departments, including the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, as well as state governments of Delhi, Uttarakhand, and Sikkim.
Margherita also expressed gratitude towards the Chinese side for its cooperation in resuming the Yatra.
