The Government of India has announced the appointment of Shri Jayant N. Khobragade, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of the 1995 batch, as the next Ambassador of India to Poland. Shri Khobragade, who is currently serving as India’s Ambassador to ASEAN, will take up his new assignment in Warsaw shortly.
Shri Khobragade brings with him a wealth of diplomatic experience, having served in various capacities in India’s missions abroad. His extensive background in multilateral diplomacy, particularly his current role overseeing India’s relations with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), positions him well to strengthen the strategic partnership between India and Poland.
As Ambassador to Poland, Shri Khobragade will be tasked with further enhancing bilateral ties between the two countries, focusing on areas such as trade, investment, cultural exchange, and regional cooperation. Poland, a key member of the European Union, plays a vital role in Europe’s political and economic landscape, and Shri Khobragade’s appointment underscores India’s commitment to deepening its engagement with Central and Eastern Europe.
