New Zealand Prime Minister to Visit India, Strengthen Bilateral Ties

In a significant development, The Right Honourable Christopher Luxon, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, will pay an official visit to India from March 16-20, 2025. This trip marks the first visit by a New Zealand Prime Minister to India in his current capacity.

During his three-day stay, Prime Minister Luxon will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising Ministers, senior officials, business leaders, media representatives, and members of the Indian diaspora community in New Zealand. The visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries across various sectors.

Prime Minister Luxon's itinerary includes a meeting with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on March 17, 2025, where they will discuss key aspects of India-New Zealand relations. Mr. Modi has graciously invited him for lunch and also plans to host a call on Hon'ble Rashtrapatiji Smt. Droupadi Murmu.

The New Zealand Prime Minister will also participate in the inaugural session of the 10th Raisina Dialogue 2025 as the Chief Guest, where he will deliver the Keynote Address. This event highlights India's commitment to fostering strong diplomatic and economic ties with New Zealand.

Prior to his visit, Prime Minister Luxon will stop by Mumbai on March 19-20, 2025, where he will engage in discussions with Indian business leaders and representatives from diverse backgrounds. His visit serves as a testament to the enduring bonds between India and New Zealand, underscoring their shared commitment to nurturing bilateral ties.

The visit is seen as an opportunity for both nations to deepen their mutual understanding and cooperation across various sectors, ultimately strengthening their people-to-people connections.
