Indian Prime Minister to Embark on Three-Nation Tour to Strengthen Global Ties

The Indian Prime Minister announced today that he will embark on a three-nation tour to Republic of Cyprus, Canada, and Croatia from June 15-18. The visit is expected to strengthen historical bonds and expand ties in areas such as trade, investment, security, technology, and people-to-people exchanges.

During his two-day visit to the Republic of Cyprus, the Prime Minister will engage with President Nikos Christodoulides to build upon existing relationships and explore opportunities for cooperation. Cyprus is a close friend and an important partner in the Mediterranean region and the EU. The visit marks a significant moment in the bilateral relationship between India and Cyprus.

From Cyprus, the Indian Prime Minister will travel to Kananaskis, Canada, where he will attend the G7 Summit at the invitation of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. The summit provides a platform for leaders to discuss pressing global issues and priorities of the Global South. The Prime Minister looks forward to engaging with leaders from partner countries on these critical topics.

The final leg of the tour takes the Prime Minister to Republic of Croatia, where he will meet with President Zoran Milanovic and Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on June 18. This marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Croatia and is expected to open new avenues for bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The three-nation tour also serves as an opportunity for the Prime Minister to express gratitude to partner countries for their steadfast support against cross-border terrorism. The visit aims to galvanize global understanding on tackling terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
