Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met with the President of the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Zoran Milanović, in Zagreb today, reaffirming their commitment to close and friendly ties between the two nations.
The meeting was an opportunity for both leaders to discuss various aspects of bilateral relations, emphasizing the shared values of democracy, rule of law, and international peace and stability. They also expressed satisfaction at the diversification of cooperation in newer areas such as defense, start-up initiatives, sports, and innovation.
Prime Minister Modi thanked President Milanović for Croatia's strong support and solidarity extended to India in its fight against terrorism. The leaders also touched upon the rich cultural linkages between the two countries, which have been a cornerstone of their relationship dating back many centuries.
In addition to strengthening bilateral ties, the two leaders discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest, including the deepening of the India-EU strategic partnership. They acknowledged that this partnership would add value to India-Croatia relations in several ways.
