In a move that is expected to further cement Cambodia’s strategic position in the region, His Excellency Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, will pay a State Visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia from 17th to 18th April 2025. This milestone visit marks an important milestone in the traditional relations of friendship built by successive leaders of both countries.
On 11 Apr 2025, the Ministry announced that President Xi Jinping is invited to pay a State Visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia at the invitation of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia. During his visit, President Xi Jinping will have separate Royal Audiences with His Majesty the King and Her Majesty Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, the Queen-Mother, at the Royal Palace.
In addition to meeting with the King and Queen-Mother, President Xi Jinping is also scheduled to meet with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. These meetings will provide an opportunity for both sides to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and exchanging views on regional and international issues of common interest.
The visit is expected to add great significance to the ironclad friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations. Many documents are expected to be signed during the visit to promote cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, infrastructure development, and people-to-people exchanges.
