Indonesia Breaks into New Market with Historic Egg Shipments to UAE

In a significant development for Indonesian trade, the country has marked its entry into the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) poultry product market with the commencement of egg shipments. The first export, facilitated by PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JPFA), has brought over IDR 2.2 billion worth of hatching eggs to the UAE.

This milestone is a direct result of the Indonesia–UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IUAE–CEPA) and demonstrates the country's growing commitment to expanding its trade horizons. Following successful entries into markets in Japan, Singapore, Myanmar, and Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia has now secured a foothold in another key region.

The export was made possible by the strong synergy between government institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Agriculture, Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) in Dubai. The UAE's Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE), responsible for food safety certification, had previously verified Indonesia's poultry facilities, granting recognition of the Veterinary Health Certificate (VHC) issued by Indonesian authorities.

This achievement not only paves the way for further trade cooperation between the two countries but also underscores Indonesia's growing reputation as a reliable supplier of high-quality poultry products. The Indonesian government has secured export approvals for various poultry products, including hatching eggs, day-old chicks, table eggs, and processed poultry products such as chicken nuggets.

The successful entry into the UAE market is expected to open up new opportunities for trade cooperation between Indonesia and the UAE, further solidifying their economic partnership. As Indonesia continues to expand its global reach, this development marks an important step in enhancing the country's competitiveness in the international food products market.

In conclusion, Indonesia's historic egg shipments to the UAE represent a significant milestone in the country's trade growth strategy. With its growing reputation as a reliable supplier of high-quality poultry products, Indonesia is poised to capitalize on emerging opportunities for trade cooperation with key markets around the world.
