At the ceremony, Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa presented Salmanzadeh with the prize, praising his outstanding achievements in the music industry. “It is an honour to present awards to Swedish songwriters, musicians and others involved in the music industry and celebrate their international success,” said Minister Dousa. “Swedish music exports have a significant economic impact worth billions, and the industry is vital for job creation, innovation and growth.”

Salmanzadeh’s win marks his 28th time as a winner of the Government’s Music Export Prize. The jury citation commended him for his ability to create timeless, personal compositions that are also characterised by universality, stating that his music “is more than just hits; it is pop art in which we can see ourselves reflected both in the everyday and in celebration.”
