Cambodia to Strengthen ASEAN Cooperation Amid Regional and Global Challenges

In a move that reflects its commitment to regional stability and economic growth, Cambodia will participate in the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from July 8 to 11. Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, who heads the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, is leading a high-level delegation to these meetings.

On behalf of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn has been invited by his Malaysian counterpart, Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Bin Haji Hasan, to participate in the AMM and Related Meetings. The theme of this year’s gathering is “Inclusivity and Sustainability,” which highlights ASEAN Community Building and reinforcing ASEAN Centrality as key objectives.

The 58th AMM will bring together foreign ministers from all 10 ASEAN member states to discuss pressing regional and global issues, exchange views on practical cooperation in various areas, and strengthen regional solidarity. The meetings are crucial for addressing complex challenges such as climate change, pandemics, and economic inequality that affect the entire region.
