National Security Adviser Shri Ajit Doval met with H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Minister of Foreign Affairs, in Beijing on June 23, 2025, as part of his visit to attend the 20th Meeting of the SCO Security Council Secretaries.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed recent developments in India-China bilateral relations and emphasized the need to promote overall development, including fostering greater people-to-people ties. NSA Doval also highlighted the importance of countering terrorism in all its forms and manifestations to maintain peace and stability in the region.
Views were exchanged on other bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual interest. The National Security Adviser noted his forward-looking meeting with Mr. Wang Yi in India at a mutually convenient date for the 24th round of Special Representative (SR) Talks.
The visit marks an important step in strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations and addressing key regional concerns. The SCO Security Council Secretaries' Meeting provides a platform for discussions on security, counter-terrorism, and economic cooperation, underscoring India's commitment to regional stability and global governance.
