Cambodia and Turkey Aim to Boost Bilateral Trade to $1 Billion

In a significant development, the Kingdom of Cambodia has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Turkey, with the goal of achieving a two-way trade value of $1 billion. According to sources within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Sok Chenda Sophea held productive talks with Turkish Ambassador Ulku Kocaefe on October 6, 2023.

On the sidelines of their meeting, the two dignitaries expressed their satisfaction at the existing cordial relations between Cambodia and Turkey, which are set to celebrate their 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year. They also agreed to jointly launch commemoration activities for this milestone, further emphasizing their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude towards the Turkish government for its development assistance to Cambodia, while Ambassador Kocaefe reaffirmed her country’s commitment to supporting Cambodia through various initiatives, including the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).
