Thailand Showcases Creativity at the 2025 Thai Festival in Ho Chi Minh City

In a bid to promote mutual understanding and drive economic diplomacy, Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently showcased the country’s creative industries at the 2025 Thai Festival in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

On May 23-25, 2025, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City organized the festival, which aimed to reflect Thailand’s progressive, modern, and creative image while strengthening people-to-people relations between the two countries. The event featured a wide range of activities, including exhibition booths from Thai government agencies and private sector organizations, Thai food and products, demonstrations and performances of traditional Thai arts such as Muaythai and fashion shows.

The festival also highlighted Thailand’s thriving music, film, drama, and TV series industries, which have great potential to reach broad Vietnamese audiences. The event included a Thai film talk session with leading Thai actor Boy (Pakorn Chatborirak), star of the movie “FLAT girls,” as well as music performances by famous artists such as Golf F.HERO, The Hotel Lobby, and PROXIE.

The festival received strong support from the Vietnamese side, with the attendance of high-ranking officials including Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thanh Thúy, Deputy Director-General of Department Culture and Sport of Ho Chi Minh City, and Mr. Panidone Pachimsawat, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

The Thai Festival in Ho Chi Minh City serves as a key mechanism under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ cultural diplomacy and public diplomacy efforts aimed at promoting mutual understanding between people and supporting Thailand’s creative industries on the global stage. As part of its 2025 initiatives, the ministry is organizing Thai Festivals in 45 cities across 32 countries worldwide.
