(GOVT. PRESS SECRETARIAT);- Following the official announcement from the Honourable Prime Minister, Fiame Naomi Mataafa today, the last positive case passenger from Australia flight 19th January 2022 was discharged yesterday after 3 consecutive tests returned negative.

However, 5 frontline workers still remain in isolation and are still well and asymptomatic. There is still no evidence of community transmission.

The 272 passengers from the Air New Zealand flight on 12th February 2022 are in quarantine. All passengers have completed 3 tests within 7 days and results returned negative. All will remain in quarantine for 21 days mandated by quarantine procedures.

VACCINATION DATA

To date the current vaccination rates are as follows;

  •    AstraZeneca
  •  1st Dose – 97.5%
  •   2nd Dose – 89.5%
  •   Pfizer (12-18 yrs)
  •   1st Dose – 92.2% (25,801)
  •  2nd Dose – 77% (21,479)
  •   Booster Shots
  •   Females – 2,212
  •   Males – 2,258
  •  Total – 4,470

The vaccines roll out program for the age group 11-5 years old, will begin as soon as the pediatric vaccine supplies arrive.
