2nd March 2021: This Press Release by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (“the Ministry”) refers to the above captioned article published by the Samoa Observer on the 27th February 2021.
The Ministry wishes to set the record straight that the Betham & Annandale Law firm (“the Firm”) was engaged by the Ministry in May 2020 prior to the appointment by Cabinet of Ms. Betham – Annandale to become the Attorney General in July 2020.
Since then, Mr. Annandale has had carriage of the Ministry litigation matter as per the arrangement (the offer by the Ministry and acceptance by the Firm).
