Marat Khusnullin holds working meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Anatoly Sivak

The deputy prime ministers discussed a number of issues related to the development of construction complexes in both countries, including regulatory control in this area. They also touched on road construction, and housing and communal services.

A
working meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin and Deputy Prime
Minister of the Republic of Belarus Anatoly Sivak was held in Moscow. The meeting was attended by Minister
of Construction and Housing Irek Faizullin, First Deputy Minister of
Architecture and Construction of the Republic of Belarus Igor Kostyukov
and others.

During
the meeting, the participants discussed a number of issues related to the
development of construction complexes in both countries.

Opening
the meeting, Marat Khusnullin said that there is a labor shortage in the
construction sector in the Russian Federation
today, and that it is important to hire workers to carry out key construction
projects, such as, for example, theatre and cultural centres in Vladivostok and in Kaliningrad,
at Vostochny Cosmodrome and other projects. Anatoly Sivak, in turn, confirmed Belarus’s
interest in cooperation in this regard. The participants agreed to work out the
cost of attracting Belarusian specialists as soon as
possible.

Regulatory control in construction was also discussed. The
meeting participants came to the conclusion that it is necessary to analyse the
building standards of both countries and bring them closer together, taking
into account the best practices of both Russia
and Belarus
in terms of technical standards.

“We have already
done a lot of work to reduce the number of mandatory standards in construction
and we continue to move towards reducing them. I believe that we need to work
to bring our standards closer together. This will allow for avoiding additional
approvals and inspections during collaborative projects,” said Marat
Khusnullin.

Anatoly Sivak expressed
Belarus’s interest in
increasing the export of construction services to Russia. Marat Khusnullin instructed
Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities Irek Faizullin to analyse the
projects implemented in Belarus.

Also during the
meeting, the parties discussed road construction and housing and communal
services.

“We are
interested in using the housing and communal services management system in Russia as a foundation,”
said Anatoly Sivak.

Marat Khusnullin
instructed the Russian Ministry of Construction to work with the Ministry of Architecture
and Construction of the Republic of Belarus on this
matter.

In conclusion, Mr
Khusnullin stressed that the volume of construction in Russia would
grow, so expanding cooperation in this area is relevant for the Russian side.
Anatoly Sivak, in turn, noted the importance of establishing direct contact
between the deputy prime ministers of both countries and the prospects for
further expanding cooperation.
