Alexei Overchuk’s working meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov.

The parties discussed the current aspects of trade and
economic relations and noted positive trends in the development of bilateral
cooperation.

“We can see that our trade and economic cooperation is
growing. Over the first eight months of 2021, the trade between Russia and
Uzbekistan increased by 6.6 percent year on year and reached $3.89 billion,” Alexei Overchuk pointed out.

Alexei Overchuk and Sardor Umurzakov also discussed
transport and logistics cooperation, highlighting the implementation of the intergovernmental
Memorandum of Understanding on the development of and support for the Russia-Uzbekistan logistics corridor and the Agroexpress
transport and logistics project.

The ministers also reaffirmed readiness to maintain a constructive
dialogue in all areas of cooperation between the two countries.
