“Flags March” Embodies the Culture of Hate and Apartheid

June 16, 2021

Yesterday, June 15, gangs of extremist settlers performed what they call “Flags March”, marching across the occupied Jerusalem and Damascus Gate, chanting racist slogans against Arabs and Palestinians, and insulting religions and prophets.

To protect this racist march, occupation police have erected dozens of checkpoints and spread hundreds of policemen, assaulting Palestinians and enforcing them to shut down their shops. On the other hand, the occupation police prevented the Palestinians from raising any Palestinian flag and assaulted the peaceful protesters who demonstrated in defense of their land and holy places.

This provocative march refers to the racist behavior of the occupation state. While the police assault the residents of Jerusalem, deny their rights of peaceful protest and prevent them from raising their national flag, it provides protection to the right-wing extremists, allowing them to provoke the Palestinian residents of Jerusalem and all the Muslims around the world, in a clear embodiment of apartheid.

The chants of “Death to Arabs” and the profane insults against religions and prophets launched by the participants in this march, including members of the Knesset and

children, reflect the “Israeli” culture of hatred towards Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslims.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls the international community and regional mediators to exert pressure on the occupation state to prevent such provocations by the extremist right, as it might lead to a flare-up at any moment.

The Ministry as well calls Arab and Islamic nations, which signed normalization agreements lately, to take lessons from these events which reflect “Israel’s” unwillingness of peace.
